Skype for Business

Recently installed Skype for Business (Lync 2013) on a Windows 7 laptop.  Installation appears to have completed successfully.  Instant messaging works fine.  Having issues with connecting into Skype meetings (both originated by myself and those originating from someone else in my organization).  Once the connection is initiated the application hangs and ultimately crashes.  Event viewer shows the following items
