Skype ID user loose presence status of Skype for Business user

Hi!

After having successfully connected from a Skype Consumer client logged in with a Skype ID to a Skype for Business user.

Then after a while (possible after a restart of the Skype Consumer client) the Skype ID user is not able to see the presence status of the Skype for Business user.

The only way to re-enable the presence status, is to remove the Skype for Business user and re-add the Skype for Business user.

Does anyone know if this is a known bug, or if there is a way to keep the presence status of the Skype for Business user working?

As a note, a Skype Consumer client logged in with a Microsoft Account (Live ID) is working flawlessly and keeps the presence status of the Skype for Business user updated continuously.

Best regards,

M

For PIC communication between Skype for Business user  & Skype user, the Skype user must be signed in using Microsoft Account (Live ID) ---- This is a requirement

Thank you the quick reply, please provide me a link with this requirement, as other documentation indicate that this should not be a requirement.

Eg. this table from Technet: ( https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn705313.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396 )

In order for Lync and Skype users to fully communicate with each other, the following requirements must be met:
  • Skype users must be logged into their Skype client with a Microsoft Account (MSA).

  • Lync users must be enabled for public IM connectivity by their Lync administrator.

  • When a Skype user adds a Lync contact, verify that the word Lync appears below the contacts name. This indicates that a Lync URI has been found.

  • When a Skype user adds a Lync contact and zero search results are returned for that Lync domain, the PIC provisioning process may not have completed, or the Lync domain has not yet been set up.

  • Depending on the privacy settings of the Lync and Skype users, IM, video, and presence may not work until the new contacts are accepted by each user.

Yes, your answer is correct for Lync 2013.

However, I am using Skype for Business 2015, and from the table on Technet it clearly states that from specific client version of Skype Cosumer it is possible to get connectivity with a SkypeID.

Please provide a link for the MSA requirement for Skype for Business 2015.
