Skype Has Stopped Working
Yesterday my computer freezed, probably during an automatic Skype update. Since then Skype doesn't launch on my Windows 7 Ultimate CZ 64bit SP1. Deleting shared.xml doesn't help, see http://heartbeat.skype.com/2011/05/problems_signing_into_skype_an.html. I have even re-installed Skype but no luck either. I have found a solution here: http://community.skype.com/t5/Windows/Skype-has-stopped-working-Win-7-64/m-p/39082/highlight/true#M4482: You should also make sure that the Compatibility mode is not enabled. Right click on the Skype icon on the desktop, select Properties and the Compatibility tab. Uncheck the option “Run this program in compatibility for”. But now I'm not able to minimize Skype to SysTray icon. :-( I'm looking for a good replacement for Skype, since Skype under Microsoft is becoming buggy and useless - many hours has to be spent on searching for solutions. Has anyone tried QuteCom?
