Hi,

when I make SkyDrive's files offline on Windows 8.1 RTM, the SkyDrive never finishes (it stuck in "Downloading xxx files"). They are kept in this state forever, even after restarts and/or additional uploads.

I have tried this on several computers several times but it always (or almost always) stuck. Number of files differs on each attempt.

I've tried to search for a solution on the net, but have not found anything useful/working (including the App Troubleshooter, or deleting all the files and uploading again), just few notes that for some people a fix on the server side was required.

This issue were present also in the 8.1 Preview era. Applying the RTM Rollup patches did not help.

Would you check the server side for me or suggest how to fix it?

Lets try to redirect the skydrive folder and sync again to see whats going on:

1. Open regedit and find following key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SkyDrive

2. Change UserFolder to another location.

3. Open the SkyDrive Metro app to confirm your files and new directory.

Then check the issue again. 

If the issue persists, please try to reset your Windows 8.1.

Hi Karen, as I have already set up that SkyDrive account about 10 times on several computers, I am note very pleasantly suprised that tou suggest to do one more reset. I do not see a chance that doing one more "reset" would help.

Based on my investigating and research on Microsoft forums, this is most probably something out of my control - like an anomaly in my SkyDrive profile, server-side issue etc.

I've a little different problem.

Although, the downloading XXX files, stays - is a problem for me too.

I've another problem too.

The double clicking sometimes opens Skydrive folder and somehow 'make only available online' becomes activated. Now, I go to application and again enable offline access. Then Skydrive make renames my Skydrive-folder to Skydrive.Old and then creates a new folder to download all items again. It has happened multiple times and I've all my Skydrive downloaded 3 times!!!

Any suggestions how to solve this?

It's so funny how you easily recommend a Windows refresh to solve a OS problem.

I have 130 windows native applications and another dozens of apps installed. I would take days to what you are suggesting.  

SKYDRIVE has a serious problem and Microsofr need to admit it and release a new Skydrive fully functional with a troubleshooting aplication with "force upload/download" feature. 

I'm so frustrated. Have already tried many suggestions. Sometimes the problem is gone and few weeks ago, new files stuck on downloading and/or uploading.

I'm tired of spending hours of my time trying to find/fix the problem. so dissapointing..
