The folder size of the windows folder is more than 8 Gbytes. Is there anything I can delete?Where can I find the uninstallation folders of the patches and service packs? Hi GuidoThe Windows folder contains the entire system. 8GB is typical for the size of this folder. It is definitely not recommended that you remove any files located there, doing so couldcorrupt the operating system and require a reinstall.Hope this helps.Thank You for testing Windows 7 Ronnie Vernon MVP

Have you tried using CCleaner to clean out junk files? That may help a bit... Otherwise don't start deleting files, This is one of the things that is a big no-no in the Windows world. Please try every solution given to your problem...and reply back with its results... - JoelbX

A good way to regaindisk spaceis to run the disk clean tool becouse with it you won't lose critical files. Right click on a drive and select disk clean up. If it isn't Mr. Seven it's not.

I used these 2 tools and they deleted about 200 MB at the first start. I also deleted all rescue points except the last one. Where are the downloaded patches stored? I think a can delete them without riscing a system crash.

In CCleaner, check the "Hotfix Uninstallers" box to clean the install files for the patches. They are perfectly safe to delete except for if you want to uninstall a patch. Please try every solution given to your problem...and reply back with its results... - JoelbX
