Singular Internet Connection Problem
I'm at wit's end people. This is my last option. Okay, presently, all the computers on my network are running Win7 Home Premium. We have like three laptops, three desktops, and that's it. The desktops are all supposed to be connected via LAN. However, with MY desktop, there's a problem. Every time I boot this old junker, it can't get a connection to the network, OR to the Internet itself. Now, first of all, this is A CABLED CONNECTION, so there shouldn't be a problem, especially since the cable itself is completely fine. Now, something I've found odd is the fact that, since it used to be a PRIVATE connection, ever since this problem has started, it's become a PUBLIC connection for some reason or another. This is the exact same home network that I connected to for more than two years without a problem, and now all of a sudden, everything I've tried--from disabling the adapter and reenabling it, to troubleshooting it, to looking for options in Window's firewall (even TURNED OFF the firewall to see if that relieved my symptoms), but NOTHING HELPS. I finally got so fed up that I uninstalled the driver to my LAN. When it reinstalled on reboot, it STILL didn't help. It just sits there saying it's staring at an Unidentified Network with no Internet Access. Troubleshooting yields "Local Area Connection does not have a Valid IP Configuration". So tell me--why after so many flawless years of service is my old baby causing me to want to drop her out of a two-story window? It's a custom-built tower that's a few years old. If anyone can make this go away, I'd love you FOREVER....

Can you see network adapter in Device Manager? Any traces in Event logs? Regards Milos

Hi, Based on my research, please check following: 1. Please make sure your systems obtain IP settings automatically and see how it works: Change TCP/IP settings 2. If all your computers connect to a router, please check the settings of DHCP in your router are correct. You can also capture a screenshot of the setting for us to check. 3. Try to check if you can change the location to Home Network: Choosing a network location 4. If issue persists, please run command prompt as Administrator and type netsh dump >C:\1.txt.
