Single Client Unable to search for some contacts list entry.
I'm looking at a Lync 2013 client with a strange issue.   Searching from the GAL works fine, the user can search any contact from the Lync Server Address List.  The problem is that she is unable to do a quick search for most of the external users that she has added to her favorite lists by first or last name.  External users meaning federated contacts from outside the organization.   If I search for a contact in her favorites by first or last name, no results are returned.  This probably seems to be localized to her client.

Hi,

Please try to test the issue using the issued Lync account on other Lync client with other computer.

Please delete the Lync user profile and Lync information on Regedit with the following path:

%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Lync\sip@domain.com

Then test the issue again.

Best Regards,
Eason Huang

Hello,

Sorry, it took a long time before I could get access to that user where she could type her password in another client.  The issue still occurs when she uses another client.  It looks like it is only federated contacts that she can't search for.  Internal contacts that she has added to her favorites are returned.

Finally had a chance to look at it.  It turns out there were about 9000 Suggested Contacts for one DID in the Outlook Suggested Contacts folder.  I used MFCMapi to delete them and the issue is now resolved.
