Since installing win 7 Webcam won't send video
Actually the webcam not only never sends the video on a videoconference using live messenger itfrequently won't receive video or sound or send sound. The webcam iss a MSFT VX3000 and it works fine on a laptop runningan old version of Windows that connects through the same modem and routerso it is unlikely that the problem is with the webcam themodem or the router. I've also tried turning off the firewall. I'd like to try uninstalling the web cam and starting over if I could figure out how to do it. any suggestions?

Eastham,From the details you have given above, it's not just your webcam that is a problem...Can you give us your laptop information? What kind is it and what model?Which version of Windows 7 are you running? Was this an upgrade of Windows Vista, or a clean install?

The laptop is an older Dell running XP the webcam works fine on it -- It's my much newer desktop with win 7 and a dual core AMD 64bit processor that has the problem. I did a clean installation on a newer 750GB drive ( It never had an operating system or any programs on this drive).

Eastham,Well uninstalling should be easy enough... Right-click on the 'Computer' icon and choose properties. When the new window opens, in the left pane, choose 'device manager'. You should be able to find it in there to uninstall it. Was there software other than the driver that came with it? That would have to be uninstalled from the Control Panel, Programs and features area. When you re-install, try using 'Compatibility mode'.
