Silent installation of a application on Windows 8

Hi,

I am trying install an application using silent installer. On Widnows 8 when i use created Administrator user its throwing the error as below

MSI (s) (10:F8) [12:20:29:568]: Product: CA Support Automation Agent -- Error 1925. You do not have sufficient privileges to complete this installation for all users of the machine.  Log on as administrator and then retry this installation.

Error 1925. You do not have sufficient privileges to complete this installation for all users of the machine.  Log on as administrator and then retry this installation.

  1. In Windows 8 when UAC is OFF silent installation is not working for created administrator. Whereas its working for built in administrator.
  2. In Windows 8 when UAC is ON, its not working for both the users.

Any idea how to resolve this issue.

Thanks & Regards,

Hema.

Do you have this problem with any other software?

Make sure you run your script or agent as administrator and make sure you are part of Administrator user group.

How did you turn UAC off? Moving the slider to the button? If yes this NO LONGER DISABLES UAC in Windows 8.x.

Do you need the new apps? If yes, you can't disable UAC without breaking them. The apps need UAC turned on.

To disable the UAC, set the value EnableLUA from 1 to 0 in the registry under

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System

and reboot.
