What is your system make and model? What is your XP Version and Service Pack?Describe your current antivirus and anti malware situation: McAfee, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc. Please provide additional information about your system:Click Start, Run and in the box enter:msinfo32Click OK, and when the System Summary info appears, click Edit, Select All, Copy and then paste the information back here. What method(s) are you using to measure the performance? What does "crash" mean to you - what do you see that you think you should not be seeing, what do you not see that you think you should be seeing, etc.Are you experiencing a Blue Screen of Death with a bunch of text information on the screen and have to restart your system? When you say you attempted system restore and unsuccessful, does that mean System Restore did not seem to complete as you expected or your performance issues did not change in the manner in which you expected. What programs did you remove and how did you remove them?If you want to see a positive performance improvement, replace Symantec with something better, smaller footprint and less overhead. It is often a cause of performance issues when installed with all the options enabled. Consider disabling or uninstalling all Norton/Symantec products completely (at least temporarily) using the Symantec uninstallation tool appropriate for your version.http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20080710133834EN&ln=en_US Don't guess what the problem might be - figure it out and fix it.
