Every once in a while these twin errors pop up in the Application event log ("twin" because it always occurs twice): Activation context generation failed for "C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Photo Gallery\MovieMaker.Exe".Error in manifest or policy file "C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Photo Gallery\WLMFDS.DLL" on line 8. Component identity found in manifest does not match the identity of the component requested. Reference is WLMFDS,processorArchitecture="AMD64",type="win32",version="1.0.0.1". Definition is WLMFDS,processorArchitecture="x86",type="win32",version="1.0.0.1". Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis. I havent't even used MovieMaker yet, though I did start it to see if that made the error(s) stop showing up (it didn't). Any idea what this means and what (if anything) to do about it?

Good to know it's not a big deal--here's the weird part, though--unlike in the kb article, I've had this happen when MovieMaker was not being run at all. Perhaps some other componenet of Windows or Windows Live triggers this requestfor 64-bit Wlmfds.dll?

I get this too on a brand new DELL laptop with Windows 7 64bit, (that came with Windows Live applications installed), WITHOUT EVEN STARTING MOVIE MAKER. It seems to occur once every day, at different times, & is always followed by a SidebySide Event ID 59 with ...Error in Manifest or policy file c:\program files (x86)\microsoft\.......\searchhelper.dll on line 2, Invalid XML syntax. So agree that the KB article 976229 does not fully describe the symptoms, or there is some other problem that Microsoft needs to address.
