Shutdown access denied
When I first installed Windows 7 (clean install, but also happens on upgrade) I was able to shutdown and restart from my logged in user. Now, the shutdown, restart, and sleep options are disabled. Also when I run the shutdown.exe command, it tells me access denied. The computer is on a domain and I am a member of the local administrators group on my computer. The options were there after the first time I logged in with my domain account, then they became disabled. How do I get those back?

Do you have any group policies running on the domain that stop users accessing the shutdown command? What happens when you log in as the main domain administrator?

GPO. GPO always takes precedence. Even if you have local admin privileges, GPO override any all. Only a domain can make the changes.
