Showing all files and folders on network share in Windows 7
Client OS: Win7 X64 Server OS: 2003 When using XP we used to see the temporary files that Excel creates when showing all files and folders on a network share. With Win7, this seems to have dissapeared. I have tried all of the view settings I can think of. How can we see the ~$file.xlsx files on a mapped drive in Windows 7?

If you go to Control Panel -- Folder Options and on the View tab hit the radio button labeled "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" and you should now be able to see hidden files.Be kind and Mark as Answer if I helped.

I did that and many other combinations of view-settings changes and it didn't work. Can you get the results I'm looking for by following your directions?

I can get results with what i suggested, see below. I blurred out the server name but you can see it starts with '\\' so its a UNC path to a network share as your requirements state. Be kind and Mark as Answer if I helped.

Thanks for the reply. I struggled with this one for a while, because I actually had tried your suggestion multiple ways before I posted here. I couldn't get what you were seeing so that is why I double checked. What ended up doing the trick was a combination of your answer and also making sure that the "Hide protected operating system files" option was de-selected. We are back in business, thank you!
