I believe there should be a discount, maybe not free but - yes - a discount as we all helped when it was needed.

Why??? Did you provide a fix for a bug?? Did you sell 1,000's of copies they would never had sold??? I did not think so.Beta testing is for us as well as them.those of us who are techs beta test so WE KNOW to expect when we are moving to windows. If you did it for a "free" OS, well to bad you did not read the TOS.There is no reason for MS to give us discount, the benefit has and will always be what you LEARN from the beta . RC not the cost of the software. And what I learned from months of beta testing and weeks of RC testing is worth more than 100 copies of windows 7.

Since folks voluntarily installed and evaluated Windows 7 Beta and RC1, there is no discount available for the final version. This was explained in the Windows 7 RC1 FAQ section you should have read. It would have cost Microsoft billions of dollars to offer Windows 7 freebies or discounts to all the millions of folks who evaluated Windows 7.Your time spent evaluating Windows 7 was greatly appreciated!Carey Frisch

You could have purchased any version of Windows 7 back in June when MS offered it for 1/2 price. I got the Pro version for $99 and recently bought a OEM Home Premium version from NewEgg for $104.Rich Why can't I be different and original like everybody else? - Vivian Stanshal
