Should I have two Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapters?
While doing some diagnostic work on my wife's Dell I noticed that it has two MVWMAs: Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection 3: Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter # 2 Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 88-53-2E-93-7B-FB DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection 2: Media State . . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 88-53-2E-93-7B-FB DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes She is running Windows7 with a CoreI7. Could this also be making it difficult for her to connect to remote WIFI? She can connect fine at home, but cannot connect to other routers when travelling. Thanks for any info you can give me.

are the remove access points open or are they secure? if there are multiple miniports its usually due to the driver design make/model of machine? Windows MVP 2011-12, XP, Vista, 7 and 8.
