This works for me! Run menu - type Regedit Select HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile (that is an L)Delete the IsShortcut registry value Reboot, your done. Hi, -Good news: There's a freewareutility for Vista that also works in Win 7. Bad news: The site of the designers (Frameworkx) is no longeravailable. Good news: You might try googling Vista shortcut arrow fix frameworkx and see if it is available elsewhere. It is a far better solution that editing the registry as proposed in another post. I know that modification has side effects but cannot recall exactly what they were. Carlos
