Sharing between Windows 7 Pro and Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit
Hi all, I have a Dell Desktop with Windows 7 Pro and a HP Laptop with Windows Vista Home Pre 64 bit, they are on the same network and same workgroup. I can see and open the shared folders and files on HP Laptop but i cannot do the same on my Dell Desktop. I checked the permissions and other setups they are all same on both. The only difference i see on Dell Desktop is Discovery Method when i open the network folder first it shows both computer as netbios but with in minutes Dell Desktop Discovery Method changes to WSD but the HP Laptop stays netbios. The discovery method in HP Laptop Network folder are both WSD. Can i knwo why the HP Laptop Discovery method is WSD in HP Laptop and NetBios in Dell Desktop. Will it restrict network accessabilty. How can i open HP Laptop shared folders and files in Dell Desktop. Please help me out.

Hello. Please try to use \\computer name to access your computer. For example, if you want to drive C: on the computer named "test", you can open the Winows Explorer and type \\test\C$. If a small window pops up, please input the user name and password for that computer "test". Best Regards, Calven
