Sharepoint 2010 documents not opening with Sharepoint addin when searched for or linked

This issue only affects Windows 8 and 8.1 users running IE 11. Windows 7 users running IE11 are unaffected. When the user on Windows 8.1 in IE 11 searches within a SharePoint 2010 site for a document and clicks the document the only options are to Open, Save or Save As. If the user locates the actual location by navigating through the sections of SharePoint and clicks to open the document, they are presented with the open Read Only or Open and Edit options.

This also happens when using an IE frame to display a SharePoint location. Any documents displayed in the area when opened only show the Open, Save or Save as option. See the pictures below for an example.

Hi Bistech,

If it worked correctly before ,we can try to reset the Internet Explorer to get an original settings to have a check .

Tools\Internet Options\Advanced \Reset
