Shared printer will not install driver
I have 2 laptops that are supossedly the same Dell 1545 w/ W7 Home Premium x64. On mine the HP5150 installes localy (USB) and picks up the share with no problem. On my wifes though it install localy (USB) as a 5100, but when I try to connect to the share
it says it cannot load the driver. I have even tried to force driver load but it says it doesn't exsist. Any tips as to what I am missing?

Do both laptops have the same operating system?
And what do you exactly mean by connecting to the share? Do you mean sharing the printer?

Did you read my post????
I HAVE 2 LAPTOPS RUNNING THE SAME OS! ( Windows 7 home permium 64 bit) 1 loads the driver correctly and connects to the shared printer OK. The 2nd one loads a diffrent driver and will not load the same driver for the shared printer.
The shared printer is my desk top that has my cable modem and Cisco WiFi router attached. The desk top system is running Vista and has the HP DJ5150 connected via USB.
I say again one laptop will load locally and shared to this printer with no problem. The second laptop will load locally but will not install the 5100 driver for the share to work. This system will not let me load a driver for the shared printer manualy
either.

Hi,
Did you receive any error message during manually installing the driver?
First of all, If any printer driver was installed on the problematic PC, I suggest remove the driver via Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Programs and Features completely.
I suggest downloading the latest
printer driver and following the steps described
here to install the driver.

Thanks Bsharpe,
I had to run the windows update twice but it finally found the DJ5150 driver and the share is also now functioning properly. Appreciate the help.
