Shared Drives on the Domain are Not Showing
Hi! We mainly use WinXP at my workplace, but we are converting to Win7 soon. I just recently installed windows 7 on a dell optiplex 745 workstation and added it to our work domain. It adds fine to the domain but the main thing I notice is that when a user logs in it does not show all the shared drives when they click on MY Computer to do with our network. When I add a PC with WinXP any user can log in their Windows Account and automatically when they click on My Computer it shows all the shared drives on the network that we want everyone to have quick access to, but with Windows 7 it does not automatically show the shared drives, I have to manually map the drives, but if someone else logs on with another profile it does not auto show the shared drives. Does anyone know of a setting that needs to be changed? I am adding the Win7 PC to the same domain as the WinXP, so I'm thinking it should work the same.

Hi, How do you map the network drive automatically? Through the Logon script? If so, please use rsop.mcs to check the script whether apply to the client. I suggest to run the script manually for a test. In addition, you may consider using Group Policy Preference to map the network drive. Have you turned on Network Discovery for that network? Also, verify that the network location is set to the correct environment. To verify whether Network Discovery is turned on please do the following; Go To Control Panel > Network And Sharing Center > Change Advanced Sharing Settings Verify Network Discovery is turned on and you are connected to a domain
