Share network connection
Greetings! A collegue is going on vacation and he will took business laptop with him. He would like to connect to a public wireless or thru GSM and make a hot spot. He has win7 x64 and if he click the properties on his connection, under wireless connection properties / sharing he has a notification: Internet connection: sharing has been disabled by the Network Administrator. Is this setting somewhere set up thru our group policy? How can he enable this while he is on vacation? with best regards, bostjanc

Hi , Check if Prohibit use of Internet Connection Sharing on your DNS domain network is enabled, located in Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Network\Network Connections. If you enable this policy setting, ICS cannot be enabled or configured by administrators, and the ICS service cannot run on the computer. In the Advanced tab in the Properties dialog box for a local area network (LAN) or remote access connection, under Internet Connection Sharing, it says Internet Connection Sharing has been disabled by the Network Administrator. Hope it helps.Tracy Cai TechNet Community Support
