Setup has detected that your computer needs to be rebooted before continuing...
I am using Windows 7 Professional and had a problem when try to install one specific software. It had an error saying, "Setup has detected that your computer needs to be rebooted before continuing. Please reboot your computer before running setup again." I rebooted my computer but still getting this message. However, I tried to install at other computer (also Windows 7 Professional) it works fine. How can I fix this problem? Thank you in advance.

On the Registry Editor window, navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\InProgress If that key is there, export the registry first then delete that key. Thank you for your response. I followed your instruction and there is no "InProgress", it have "Folders", "ResolveIOD", "Secure", "UpgradeCodes", and "UserData". Any idea!? Thanks!

Hi, You can try to login with Clean Boot or Safe Mode to install the software. Also please check this software is compatible with Windows 7 or not, you can check it on Windows 7 Compatibility Center If the uncompatible software which install on Windows 7 may cause unexpected issue. Furthermore, you can restart “Windows Installer” service for test. Hi, Thank you for you help. But I did not try it, I think 99.9% is the software not compatibility to Windows 7 causing this problem. I requested to the vender for a upgarde version instead. Thanks!
