Setup Remote Desktop on XP Professional so that I can access my documents on the 3 laptops running Windows Ultimate 7 I use outside my home.
My Main Desktop at home runs XP Pro SP 3. This has two very large hard drives that I keep all my information and products on along with the most recent Favorites which can no longer sync through windows live as they did before. My 3 laptops run Windows 7 Ultimate (two are Core 2's and one is an Intel i7) The smallest harddrive is 320 GB, one 500GB and the i7 is is 650GB. But I have tried many serveral ways to connect them and I know it must be something simple I am missing. I have read the Article ID: 969084 Description of the Remote Desktop Connection 7.0 and was about to just run with this option until I looked into the section:951608 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/951608/ ) Description of the Credential Security Service Provider (CredSSP) in Windows XP Service Pack 3. From the PDF is sounds as if I would need to have a server X.509 certificate. So one of my questions would be is this true? Then my second question would be if I am not using a server is there a cost for the certificate?Thank you for any advice?Email removed for privacy1 person got this answerI do too
