Setup File & Printer Sharing for 4 Computers
I have three laptops, two XP Home Edition, one Win 7 Ult and a desktop with Windows 2000 pro. I have a Lexmar printer connected to desktop by cable. I have the DSL modem directly connected to the Desktop and and thus have wireless internet connection for all laptops. Missing is my home network for file and printer sharing. What could be the best way to do so, which computer to set as main computer and how to deal with the three different Windows operating systems? Thank you.2 people need an answerI do too

You should be able to add File and Print Sharing the system hosting the printer and then share that device as a network printer. This requires that you leave this PC running. My approach, however, was to purchase a print server device, plug my printers into it, and connect to them from each PC.Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]
