Setting up new wired LAN connection between Vista and Windows 7
Hello, I've been trying for a few hours to setup a wired LAN connection between a vista system and a windows 7 system to no prevail. All I want to do is be able to directly connect the two computers to play a LAN game without requiring the internet. I can do this in XP fine, but vista is giving me some major hassles. I've tried just about everything I can think of and still no success. In XP there was a wizard that helped create the Local Area Connection, in Vista I can't seem to find this and the only options I have are pretty much wireless, except for broadband and dial up, internet connection and this isn't what I want. How do I create this new connection, fyi, I do not want to create a wireless ad-hoc I want it to be specifically wired, between the two systems so this works? Thank you for your help in advance.

Ok, so there aren't any Vista experts on a Vista forum that know how to do this properly?

Thanks for the replies. Magon Liu, I appreciate the steps. Once I do all that, will that automatically create a new LAN connection? Dawooddoe, exactly what I was looking for. I needed to know how to manually input the information in Windows 7 and I couldn't find that. Thank you.
