Setting up Windows 7 Ultimate as a Home Server/HTPC
I have an 8 core, 16GB ram, 3 network card system with WIN 7 ultimate that will be used as a home server/HTPC. One network connection is to the Internet, one is to a DROBO FS storage device, and one is to the home network. The goal is to be a file/print/media
(PS3 & PCs)/ and internet access server with the ability to control bandwidth utilization as well as file and print access rights. How do I set this up?
Is there a way to add server functionality to W7U?

1. W7U is not server operating system, but limited number of users can have access to shared resources. For bandwidth control look for QoS support in Windows and active network devices.
2. Home server is better alternative

Hi,
Windows 7 Ultimate is able to enable Active Directory and some other Server Services which need install patches. Qos setup is more related to the network devices.
Here is one guide and download link can be referred to.
