Setting up Remote Desktop when I only have the mfg Recovery CDs
In attempting to setup Remote Desktop on an XP Pro with sp3 Compaq machine, I follow these instructions: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/expert/northrup_03may16.mspx. At a certain point during installation it asks me for the XP Pro installation disk to download/install some files (convlog.exe, admxprox.dll...). Problem is, I only have the Compaq XP Pro recovery CDs with those files nowhere to be found. This stops installation dead in it's tracks. Anybody have any suggestions?1 person needs an answerI do too

Use something not native to XP instead such as TeamViewer, GoToMyPC, etc.MS-MVP - Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic!
