Setting Local Area connection (Wired connection) on top in VISTA
Hi All, I wanted to set Local Area connection (Wired Connection)always on TOP in VISTA, Is there anyUTILITY by installing it will set automaticallyLAC on top, What I tried : I captured the registry by keeping the LAC on top,The system in which I have captured it is having only 1)Local Area Connection 2) Remote Access connection. When I merged these registries in other systems which are having 1)Local Area connection2 2) Local Area connection 3) Remote access connection. System's all connections are getting crash. Is there any method to set LAC on topfor all types of platforms vista. I need this requirement since this has toset as soon as user login, Thanks in Advance, Sajji

Hi, Do you mean that the Local Area Connection needs to be set as the default connection when startup? If so, please right click on the network icon in the system tray, choose Network and Sharing Center. Then click on "Manage network connections" along the left navigation pane. Then, right click on the connection you'd like to automatically connect to and click, "Set as Default Connection". However, if my understanding is incorrect, please let me know more detail information.

Hi Arthur Xie, As I have mentioned all users are ADMINISTRATOR in our environment, More than 10,000 users are there, When first time deploying VISTA OS will keep "Local Area Connection " on top and will set "Set as Default Connection", But as I told all users are administrator if they change the order and kept there desired connection (Wireless) on top and set "Set as Default Connection" then its problem for us, Although they are administrator stillwe want to restrict them by doing this setting there required connection on top, Please help me, Thanks & Regards, Sajji

Hi Sajji, Windows Vista does not have policy to just forced to set a default connection. You may configure the "Ability to Enable/Disable a LAN Connection" policy in gpedit\User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Network\Network connections to not allow users to disable the LAN connection as a workaround.
