Set URL shortcuts icon to the default of IE when other browser is set as primary
Hello, How can I set the icon for internet shortcuts to be as if Internet Explorer was the default browser. Currently, Mozilla is default and it sets its own icons. Thank you.

Hi, Windows cannot change a 3rd party application icon, this depends on this application. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. It's the icon for HTML files for example. Same one for URL shortcuts. It can be changed, I just don't know from where to chage it.

Again, the icons are fine when IE is default browser. They are changed to those of Firefox when Firefox is the default browser. I want to keep Firefox as default browser, but have Internet Explorer's icons for .html files, URL shortcuts and so on.

Hi, This is by design. If you set the Firefox as default browser, the Icon of HTML file will be changed to Firefox too. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. I don't care about official methods. I just want a solution - AT MY OWN RISK. There, you're safe.

I know. But icons can be changed from the registry for example. I've done so for other filetypes. I cannot find a way to do so for .html, .htm and URL shortcuts.
