Services.exe causing problems and high cpu from it.
Every time I log on, services.exe is taking up more than 30 % of CPU sometimes, 60%. I have tried to do an avg scan but, the computer keeps freezing every time I do one. I tried to do an avg virus scan in safemode, that froze as well. I then tried a windows live one care online safety scanner, and that didn't work either. I've done system restore, that didn't solve the problem. Then I tried last known good configuration and that didn't work either! I don't know what to do now. Please help :) Merry Christmas :) I'm on windows XP service pack 3 by the way.1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi there please download http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php and install and after you Update it,run a Full system scan(FREE Program).f the installation is not allowed to procceed, try and install the program in Safe mode and run the scan from there. Please report back with the results. You can also download this exe http://www.freedrweb.com/cureit it needs No installation, just double click on the exe.( FREE Program)No need to update either,BUT first disable your 'real time Antivirus' before you click on Start(for at least 4 hours).t will start scanning automatically,if it finds anything it will stop and ask for instructions.Have it delete whatever it finds.By the way, what security programs do you have on your pc?Please report back and we'll take it from there.

I've done that virus scan and it found one thing. I deleted it, as recommended, and restarted the computer. The problem was not solved and services.exe is still taking an abnormal amount of cpu. I have avg free and zone alarm for firewall. I don't know what to do now as it appears it is not a virus that is causing this problem. What should I do?
