Service Pack 1 Resets Product Activation
i am managing an enterprise of 1000 PC ,all of them are windows 7 SP1 now. since a week we are facing a problem that the product activation reset and the bottom right corner of the screen says: "Windows 7 Build 7601 This copy of Windows is not genuine." we have tried to reactivate windows with VAMT and manually with a big failure and a message saying access denied. i tried this article with http://processorcores.blogspot.com/2011/02/windows-7-not-genuine-after-installing.html but it gave no solution in my case and when i did slmgr -ato i am getting access denied. any one faced this buggy behaviour...?

When you run slmgr -ato please ensure that you are running it as adminstrator. Then try activating Windows again, making sure that you run everything as admin. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

Please post an MGADiag report form one of the affected machines (will need to run elevated) To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 ) Once saved, run the tool. Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report. To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response. - IN YOUR OWN THREAD, please Noel Paton | Nil Carborundum Illegitemi | CrashFixPC | The Three-toed Sloth
