Service Control Manager on every startup
I'm getting Event 7001 on every starup (Win7/64/Dell980). All drivers have been update, bios flashed to latest version, and in services, TPM Base Services has been set to automatic. Here's the error: The NTRU TSS v1.2.1.29 TCS service depends on the TPM Base Services service which failed to start because of the following error: The operation completed successfully. Here's the detals: Log Name: System Source: Service Control Manager Date: 9/17/2010 9:37:30 AM Event ID: 7001 Task Category: None Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: MN-PC Description: The NTRU TSS v1.2.1.29 TCS service depends on the TPM Base Services service which failed to start because of the following error: The operation completed successfully. Does not offer a remedy. Or is offering one that at my level of experience is slipping past me. Also, in services I have set TPN Base services to automatic. Still same error. Thank you.

Found 555908d1-a6d7-4695-8e1e-26931d2012f4 but when you say "delete the hive (the first hive)," do you mean 555908d1-a6d7-4695-8e1e-26931d2012f4 itself? You can't mean WINEVT or some higher level. I think you're calling a hive what I think of as a "key," Also, in layman's terms, can you tell me what that does? Finally, you advice "clear your logs then restart your system." Can you tell me please how to do that?

Hi, you can refer: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproinstall/thread/f09da796-5028-4a14-8d50-a65fc754f9a1 The NTRU TSS v1.2.1.29 TCS service is for fingerprint login and also TPM encryption. You might get this error if in your bios TPM is not activated. If you don't use fingerprint you can disabled this service. Not a big dealPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Thank you. I disabled the NTRU service and the error stopped. Can you think of any reason I should activate TPM encryption in the bios?
