ServiceController Class In .net 3.5 SP1 (System.ServiceProcess v2.0.0.0) Fails On Windows 7
Hello,We have an app that contains code that uses instances of the Service Controller class in .net 3.5 SP1 (System.ServiceProcess v2.0.0.0) to manipulate local services on machines. All works well in Vista and XP. However, in Windows 7 it always throws an "InvalidOperationException" when making calls to the Start() or Stop() methods. Also, it does not matter if the app is running under requestedExecutionLevel="requireAdministrator" or even if UAC is completely turned off. The problem persists. Please help!
