Server Folders Hiding
Hi, I have installed windows server 2008. But some manually created folders are always getting hidden automatically, even if we unhide it from the properties of that folder. I have also licensed escan installed in the server, which is fully updated and working. FIrst of all I thought, it would be some virus issue, so I gave a remote access of the server to the escan tech support, still after a long time of R & D there was no success in unhiding them. Please help me out....

Hi , When did this issue occurs? Are these folders hidden immediately and automatically after being created? I would like to confirm if these folders which are hidden automatically are hidden shares. More information about a hidden share, please see: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314984 Meanwhile, in order to get the answer effectively, it is recommended to post a new question in the WindowsServer Forums for further discussion if you are using Windows Server 2008. The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us. Hi, Sorry for a late reply. This issue occured some 5 to 6 months ago. Many R & D has been done on it. We had even tried the "attrib -R -A -S -H /S /D"command through the elevated command prompt on the folders which are hiding. But still the folders are hidden. When I check the properties of the folders. In the general tab, the attributes Read Only and Hidden are tick marked but they are unhilighted. I mean I cannot change them. Besides, I cannot confirm that these folders are hidden immediately, but I'll check it and inform you. And these folders are not hidden shares.
