Series connection through VPN not working
I'm trying to connect remotely to our iSeries at work. I start VPN and can get on all servers except the iSeries. The solution was to add the ip address and system name to the PC's HOSTS file. I'm assuming that when I'm VPNing in, this information is not being brought in correctly from our DNS server at work. Is there a way to make this work without having to hard code the IP addresses in the HOSTS file?

Hi, What is the error message when you failed to access to iSeries? What is the result when you boot into Clean Boot mode? For a test, please flush DNS and test again, type: ipconfig /flushdns Then type: ipconfig /registerdns Alex ZhaoPlease remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Found the solution. Turns out we had our full iseries name (central.company.com) registered on the external DNS and the IP address there was changed, so finding central.company.com was not working because of that. Sorry for the confusion and thanks for the help.

Error CWBCO1004 - Remote address could not be resolved. Tried the commends to flush and register and still errors. Add back into HOSTS file and it works. How do I try the clean boot mode?
