Sending programs(Yahoo messenger, firefox, I.E. etc.) Via Outlook express.
So, I KNOW you can send pictures, and even songs, but it is possible to send an actual program, like, the entire program folder, or would you have to send, each peice of the program? Then, put it in the folder?Just curious, Chaos_Edit.Young and learning...Have mercy - ChaosIf this post resolves your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" buttons. I usually try to zip the file using a program like Winzip. I believe it will allow you to compress the file to reduce the size of it. The recipient will also have to have winzip to unzip the file once received. If it is a program that ties into the registry then the user will not be able to use the program. They would need the actual installation files to use in on their computer. If it is a simple .exe then sometimes they will work without installation, but in most cases they will not.

Well depending on what program you are referring too, but a vista user should be able to download the installation files for the program you are seeking and zip and send it to you. I am assuming this program is not something you can just download from the internet freely or else you or the other person would just download it from the internet. In that case you may have the following issue:-if the program you are seeking is a program they have installed on their computer and has a product key then you will probably not be able to just install this program. You will also need a product key. Most likely the product is now registered in the manufacturers database and will not allow you to use the same product key. Most cases you would have to purchase the product to actually use it.

Ok I am starting to understand your situation a little better. You might want to post the exact version of firefox you had. I dont know if newer or older versions will mesh with what you had. Then you have the problem of the registry not matching up. It may not function even if you get the files you need. Good luck. Something I have never attempted before. FYI..If you need the version it should still located in the registry if the files were just deleted and not uninstalled.

Also found this on the support page.Forgot your Windows Live OneCare Family Safety passwordThe Windows Live OneCare Family Safety password is used to ensure that only an authorizedparent (Family Safety users with administrator permissions, able to change Family Safety settings and to add and remove child users. Usually the child user's parent or guardian. The primary parent or guardian can also add and remove secondary administrators.) can turn the Family Safety program (Downloaded software that enforces child safety settings and content filtering based on the settings defined on the Family Safety website. Users must sign in to the Family Safety program to use the Internet on the computer that the Family Safety program is installed on.) on or off. This password should be kept secret from anychildren (An account holder whose use of the Internet is restricted by Family Safety. Children can't view their own child safety settings.).If you forget your Family Safety password, when you're prompted to enter your Family Safety password, clickPassword hint . If you still can't remember your Family Safety password, uninstall the Family Safety program from the computer, and then reinstall it. For more information, seeUninstall Family Safety program and delete settings .ImportantOnly uninstall the Family Safety program from the computer. Do not delete the child safety settings (Customizable settings that help parents to protect children from being exposed to inappropriate web content. For example, parents can limit the contacts allowed in a child's account or block access to specific types of content on the Internet.) for all users associated with the primary administrator account.
