Security update for the .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 Pro x64-based system (KB2604114) fails
Security update for the .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 Pro x64-based system (KB2604114) continually fails to install either through automatic updates or even with manual download and install. The automatic download stops at 11% (dowloading) and never proceeds any further and the manual install fails everytime at 1/3 progress bar. Tried running Microsoft Fix It (that fixed some other install issues) and Mcafee anti-virus clean. Also Microsoft WEB based virus scan foun no issues. Any Suggestions. Thanks in anticipation.

1. Clean W 7 from .NET and reinstall new version of .NET Framework (with elevated rights). 2. Disable AV program temporarily to avoid interference. Regards Milos

Hi, Firstly, please let us whether other updates can be installed successfully. If only the updates for .NET Framework failed to be installed, based on my research, please try the following: 1. Using .NET Framework Cleanup Tool to remove .NET Framework 3.5.1. 2. Manually install .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 3. Run Windows Update again and check if all the updates can be installed successfully. If issue persists, please let us know the error message and upload windowsupdate.log to SkyDrive for further research. Use SkyDrive to upload collected files and post screen shot/picture. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproui/thread/4fc10639-02db-4665-993a-08d865088d65 Hope this helps.
