Security problem
I log into mt browser today and this malware software called Green AV shut me down. It put itself on to my computer and keeps telling me that I have no virus protection on my computer and it is danger of spyware, malware and virus if I don't download it immediately. I do have AVG protection on my computer and I also checked my firewall and it is on and I check my security center and my virus protection is on. This Green AV keeps popping up every 2-3 mins telling thats my virus protection is off and I am in danger. Also when I went on line every site I go to it tells me that is infected even this one, I have to go back out and come back in for me to be able to prceed. Please help me get this off my computer. I ckecked if it made its way into my control panel-add and remove programs but it didn't. But it did put itself into my tab bar, bottom left corner, and I tried to right click to remove and it won't let me. Please help if you can.

You been to myspace or facebook lately? Just curious as my brothers children infected his laptop with the same malware from one of those two sites. The only fairly easy way to get rid of it is a clean re-install in my opinion. Some of the more tech savvy folks here might have a better solution, but a clean re-install insures there are no little bits left. My brother also runs AVG btw, so maybe they need a bit of info from us to update their program to catch this one.

I've tried Malwarebytes, Spybot, Avast all in Safe Mode with no success. These were suggestions by others from various forums. While I do think a lot of spyware was cleaned up, the pesky Green AV program/viris still remains. I've spent most of today downloading various programs in an effort to solve the problem only to find it still being intrusive. Has anyone actually tried Spyhunter or Adware successfully after being infected with this "Green AV" problem or are these just more suggestions? Is there anyone who actually has been infected with this "Green AV" who has managed to get rid of it? Perhaps i'm just a novice, but why can't Microsoft just make an application to fight this and wipe it completely off the hard drive?

Looks like you will need to remove the same from startup. For doing the same follow the following article & remove or delete any link that says Green AV or has an reference to the same. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1401-startup-programs-change.html If that does not help let me know will try some advance options..

Hi there, Okay, last night I went to microsoft.com.... I usedtheremoval tool you can use 1 time free.... which removed it totally. After it is done doing the one full scan of your system, which did take several good hours as I did the full scan as recommended, Live.com allowed me to chose if I wanted to have 6 months of free protection. It totally removed and took care of my problem... Some of the other programs like Spyhunter, etc let you download and scan, but you must buy before it works. Not with Microsoft.
