Security or what??
Unbelievable, if you run a program in compatibility mode(winXP), it will generate UAC prompt every time you launch it!!Obviously, nobody is going to accept answering to UAC prompt every time the program is started, so effectively you don't have compatibility mode in Win7.

It won't if you don't run as a member of the Administrator group. When you are in WinXP, if you are running from an account that has Admin privs, it gives Admin privs to that program. Therefore, compatibility mode must duplicate this.

I am running the default account, as it was created during installation. This is what everybody in the world is going to do. By the way, Vista does not have this issue. There is a box "Run this program as an Administrator", so automatic running as an administrator is a mistake.

> I am running the default account, as it was created during installation. This is what everybody in the world is going to do.That's the problem. They should be prompted to create a regular account during setup, if not forced to. Once you go into account settings, a regular account is recommended. Legacy programs will run in a virtualized environment, so they don't need privilege to set registry entries or write in \Program Files
