Security manager
I have a security manager icon on my taskbar. I don't remember downloading this. It looks like it's not working though. It is red with a white X on it. Does anyone have this also? I have had trojans and viruses and McAfee took care of those and rid my computer of them just the other day. Any ideas or help would be great.1 person needs an answerI do too

I guess Security Manager is Fake Anti-Virus, and it means you are infected. If that is the case, update your McAfee, then retsart your PC and press F8 key repeatedly and chose Safemode , then open McAfee and run full system scan.See what will happen.
Free Windows Admin Tool Kit Click here and download it now

What happens when you right click on the icon? Does it open Security Center? May indicate Firewall, Auotmatic Updates or Antivirus is not functioning or not recognized. First check Security Center in Control Panel. If it were "Security Shield" virus you would had lots of popups and limited functionality of your computer. You may wish to try a second scan with Windows Live OneCare Safety Scanner found here, http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm?s_cid=sahIf you have not used this before you will be requested to install an ActiveX and scanning tools and perhaps requested to turn off "Pop-up Blocker"(click on the little down arrow next to the "gear"-Tools icon on the top right corner of your browser and move your cursor down to Pop-up Blocker and then Turn off Pop-up Blocker)You will also be required to Accept the Terms" initially. Accept all and follow the prompts. A 'Full Scan" will take some time as it includes more than just a virus scan.
