Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 for x64-based Systems (KB2604115) continually fails
This has been going on for weeks. I have run the "updater fixer" that is posted in other threads. That has not resolved the problem. The biggest problem is that my HDD is at huge activity rates generating the WER files and files in the CBS directory because this and another .NET 3.51 update continues to fail. I've also followed instructions in other thereads for checking for keys in the COMPONENTS section and deleting files in directories and an XML file. You are not alone. There are numerous complains after .NET updates (though majority aims at .NET 2... but .NET 3.51 contains version 2 as well) Give a try to removal of .NET and reinstall .NET. Regards Milos

Hi Milos, I have also removed .NET and reinstalled .NET. That still hasn't solved the problem. The error that is returned provides absolutely no value to what is going on. I'm not so concerned about it failing as much as I am about constant WER and files in the CBS file being created which basically kills performance on my machine with 50MB read/write hits occuring non-stop. They are all under PID 4, so I don't know of a way to kill those processes.

Hi, PID 4 is a system process which is the one of the two kernel processes. Please upload cbs.log to Skydrive and post the link here. I will take a look into it. Juke Chou TechNet Community Support
