Security Center fails to notify.
After forgetting to re-enable my Comodo firewall for at least a week, I noticed that the security center did not notify me. I want it to notify me with the icon in the taskbar, it never appears. Security center is enabled, the application window displays the proper status of my firewall, and the options to notify are selected but it fails to show the icon. I uninstalled Comodo firewall and Avast antivirus and flushed the WMI repository, still no icon. Also, If boot to safe mode and then back to normal mode, the desktop appearance style changes to Windows Classic. Never had these problems before. I have Win XP Media Center and in addition have Malwarebyte's Anti-malware and SUPERAntispyware installed.1 person needs an answerI do too

Hi MadMatter,Step 1: We recommend you to cross check if the Security Center service is up and running on the computer. To do this, try these steps:a. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc and click ok.b. From the list of services, double click on Security Center.c. Change the startup type to Automatic and click Start button.d. Click ok to apply the changes.Step 2: Run sfc (system file checker) scan to see if any system file is missing or corrupt. To do this, try these steps:a. Click Start, click Run, type cmd and click ok.b. On the command prompt, type sfc /scannow and hit enter.c. Once the scan is complete, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.Note: You will be prompted to insert the Windows XP disc if any file is missing. For more information, see Description of Windows XP System File Checker (Sfc.exe)Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.
