Hi Alex, Thank you for the post. Based on my experience and research, this behavior can occur if the WMI repository is inconsistent. Please perform the following steps to resolve this issue: 1. Reboot your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. 2. When the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, select Safe Mode, and then press Enter. 3. Log onto Windows. NOTE: In Safe Mode, your system display and desktop will look and perform differently than in normal mode. 4. Click Start, type: CMD in the Start Search box and then right click on the Command Prompt ->Select "Run as Administrator". Click Continue if it prompts. 5. When the Command Prompt opens, type this command: winmgmt /verifyrepository 6. If the response is 'WMI repository is INCONSISTENT', type this command: winmgmt /salvagerepository 7. If this is successful, close the command prompt and reboot the Vista machine. 8. However, if it runs unsuccessfully and return an error message, please run this command: winmgmt /resetrepository 9. Reboot the computer and check the result. Hope it helps. Sincerely, Joson Zhou Microsoft Online Community Support
