Security - a sad editorial
This bit (below), from me, grew out of a Thread initially about MACs vs PCs. Flowed to security concerns, threats & protection. Someone mentioned that a company had denied workstations Internet access & the fact that such extremes to safeguard computers even be necessary. It hit a nerve in me...Nail on the head, folks, precisely the point. It's about security not, brands, types of computers or operating systems. it comes down to nothing but, the sad fact that there is crappy, dangerous, damaging, vicsious, spiteful stuff floating about on the net. What is even more @ the root that is even a sadder editorial, is the sick, mean, nasty, money-greedy, sadistic humans propagating such rubbish... that hurts people, business, social fabric & attitudes and yes (that) forces big thick walls, deep wide moats & sentries on constant guard & alert around todays computers. In an ideal world, w/ only people of 100% pure ethics & morals, would we not need to protect ourselves or our computers from fellow humans. We aren't blocking germs or hackers... we are defending against demented, criminals, parasites feeding on innocents and striving & stuggling to stop tresspassers & or robbers. Doesn't matter MACs, Windows or what but, as long as there are rotten humans abusing computing, the net & fellow humans, there will be security needs & concerns. I hope people are blocking workstations from the internet. Humans abuse more then each other on the net. It's a sad fact, but it is one we have to live with.Supreme Court will soon decide how personal texting and computer use/e-mail go:http://www.nationalpost.com/news/story.html?id=2351767
