SecurityCenter2 doesn't recognize an antivirus i'm developing on Windows Vista and Windows 7
Good day, I am developing an Antivirus program and want to register it with the SecurityCenter (ActionCenter on Windows 7). I am setting the following values in a new AntiVirusProduct instance of root\SecurityCenter2: instanceGuid, displayName, pathToSignedProductExe, pathToSignedReportingExe, productState. Everything writes succesfully and i can see the values using wbemtest. Still Security Center doesn't recognize the program. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Regards, Boris

Thank you for your reply. But unfortunately this plugin is aimed for ia64 Windows 7 and 2008 R2. My problems are with x86 and amd64. When i try to install it i get a message "The update is not applicable to your computer". Regards, Boris

ok, the request page only offers the IA64 version. I've uploaded the fixes for you: *link removed* Reply if you got them so that I can delete them from my SkyDrive. "A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

Hi, I think i already figured it out. There is a private API for communication with the Security Center on Vista SP1 and 7 and in order to acquire it, you have to contact Microsoft and sign a non-disclosure agreement. More can be read here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb190942(v=vs.85).aspx Regards, Boris
