Securing Windows 7 Pro 64bit for application use (locking down)
Windows 7 Pro 64Bit Workgroup Environment No Domain Administrators group PhAdmin; Ph(has administrator rights just for the install and changed to Power User afterwards) Power Users group Ph( after install is complete) Hello All, I need to make sure the computer is secure\locked down so the only thing that runs is the application we install. After install, if users need to install or make any system changes it should prompt for PhAdmin credentials. Please let me also know if there is a windows\ free 3rd party tool used to display which App is using which port; this can be used to set the firewall with proper exceptions. Any other tool or tip or apps to keep Win 7 secure are welcome. Thanks for your assistance.

Hi, To run the netstat o or netstat ano (without quotes)commands with high privilege. You will see the port and PID number, then check the PID number on Windows Task Manager, there are descriptions about the related PID and program name. I search it with Google and find a tool that named Active Ports may be useful. In addition, lots of antivirus have this function. Ivan-Liu TechNet Community Support
