Secure file dump?
I need a solution so my coworker can drop files in essentially a network folder that points to my computer. So that my computer will have the real file, and he will have a shortcut that points to my computer. I can do this over a VPN, but that is overkill and intrusive. FTPs seems troublesome to try and set up. Alternatives?

you can do simple file/folder sharing. First up, what are the operating systems of both computers Are both computers in the same domain?http://www.cesabarre.com/

We are both using Windows 7 He is a remote user, and we are both configured in workgroups and will traget my system from various places & IP addresses. A solution that does not involve building actual servers and can be contained within these two workstations is ideal. I understood file/folder sharing would not work over the internet? (And my appologies for not making the remote issue clear in my first posting)

Hi, As my understanding, you want to make a computer access the files on another remote computer folder. Based on my research, you could try to create a Live Mesh to synchronize files to your Live Desktop, and you’ll be able to access them using almost any web browser, no matter where you are. For more information, please refer to the following link: LiveMesh | Microsoft Connect Also, you could try to create windows SkyDrive to realize “access anywhere”: Skydrive - Windows Live Hope it helps. I'm particularly interested in not having any sort of synchronization. Like a local network share, I want files that are moved to the file dump to be copied to the target computer's folder. Nothing more.
