Secure Remote on Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit failing to connect
I have recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit on my home PC (single core 3.2G 775 Chip with 2G system memory). I got the correct Secure Remote for Win 7 32Bit, and followed the following steps: 1) Installed "Check_Point_VPN-1_SecureClient_NGX_R60_HFA3.msi" on my C drive 2) Selected the "Secure Client" radio button (have tried with the other one as well) 3) Rebooted my machine 4) Run Secure Remote 5) Enter the IP Address and select "User Name & Password" 6) Enter UName & Pwd 7) Select "Standard" 8) And wait until the thing times out. I use an ADSL line to connect, and have no problems when I use my notebook, which have Windows XP (and a different version of Secure Remote) installed. I called the admin at the office, and he sees me connecting just fine, which means my connection does go through. But somehow, Windows 7 does not realize it is now connected! Please, any assistance is highly appreciated. I would much rather work on my PC than on my notebook!

SamHearn, It soulds like there could be a few possibilities here. Can you explain more about what you mean when you say: "somehow, Windows 7 does not realize it is now connected"? Do you mean that you see something odd in Network and Sharing Center? 1) Since your admin shows that you are connected, its possible that this is a routing problem. Try to verify that you are getting a valid IP address for your connection. Make sure that the IP addresses you use on your home network are on a different subnet than the one in use at the office. 2) Perhaps Firewall exceptions arent being properly created. Check the Windows Firewall settings and ensure that the program is allowed out. 3) The software may have some compatability issues. Have you or your admin contacted Check Point to see if there were any updates for this software on Windows 7? You could try running the software in compatability mode for Windows XP to see if that makes a difference. -Nagorg
