Seconday Ringer rings once when using CX600

We are using Lync on PCs along with Polycom CX600 phones.  All is good except for people working in louder environments (the update to raise the volume was not enough).

To this end we wanted to allow the secondary ringer to work through PC connected speakers so the Lync client would ring the speakers and then they could answer on the Polycom device.  No dice.  When adding the secondary ringer and setting it to speakers I get a single ring through the speakers and then the CX600 takes over and the speakers stop (this is not the muting setting for communications devices) and right now I am a little stuck on what to try next.  Unplugging the CX600 does the trick but then when they dial from the Lync client the Polycom does not ring as you would expect.

What we need is the speakers to ring nice and loud and the user be able to answer from the Polycom.  Using the CX300 does the trick but obviously this relies on a PC being on all the time which may not be the case.

In lieu of an analog ringer I prefer to use a SIP Ringer.  Algo Solutions offers an excellent SIP Ringer, we use the 8180 Alerter and setup Simul Ring, works beautifully.   http://www.algosolutions.com/products/Audible-and-Visual-Alerting/8180-sip-audio-alerter.html

I'm looking for an external ringer, and the Algo Solutions 8180 looks like it may do the trick.  A quick question.  I  Does this require any special setup on the Lync server? Any config info you could provide would be great. I am not a Lync admin, so really just want a device I can configure myself.

Thanks!
