Second NTSF partition ... can't get rid of read-only on folder.
I try running a launcher.exe program and it reports "Launcher requires write permission to ... directory. First, I am definitely logged in with admin rights. I tried right clicking folder in Windows Explorer, going to folder, and selecting properties. I uncheck Read-only hit "apply" and then "ok". Open folder up and it always has Read-only checked. I tried the "attrib -R" on directory with no luck as well (note: if I do "attrib +R" I get 'R' in Attributes column under Windows Explorer). If I display Attributes column it is blank. I tried right clicking folder in Windows Explorer, going to folder, and selecting Security tab. I then added Administrator with full access. What am I doing wrong ... pleas help!!!!1 person needs an answerI do too

This may not be abnormal. Can you navigate to that folder at a command prompt as a normal user? What happens if you then type: copy con: albert.txt 1 2 3 ^z (that last line is meant to indicate holding down the ctrl key and hitting the Z key.) then do a dir, and see if albert.txt exists. Is this folder shared? If so, check the permissions on the share. "argg" wrote in message news:5c432d3a-1e50-4296-88f7-a8f892b0df13...
